PAAT Members:

A little factoid of note from Friday's Ethics Commission meeting.

Commission Executive Director David Reisman said that they have asked the LBB to appropriate additional funds to help the Commission handle the unusually large load of sworn complaints filed so far this year.

Reisman said that while it is typical to have more complaints in an election year, there have already been 180 complaints filed so far, with a projection of nearly 700 by the end of the year if the current pace continues. This is an incredible number considering that during the past 10 years, the Commission has never handled more than 270 complaints in a calendar year.

Buckle up.

NOTE: We will send out more information on the Commission meeting under separate cover.
