Important Dates:

Monday, January 5th is the deadline for filing monthly PAC reports.  Make sure you have upgraded to the latest version of the software (3.3.7).

Monday, January 12th is the deadline for filing lobby reports.  Important:  Make sure you have upgraded to the latest version of the software (2.4.2). 

Tuesday, January 13th - the 81st Legislature convenes.

Thursday, January 15th is the semi-annual report deadline for filing political reports, including reports for PACs not filing on a monthly basis. The report covers the period ending December 31st.

Monday, January 19th - all state agencies will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Future Dates:

Friday, February 13th is the next bimonthly meeting of the Texas Ethics Commission.

As a reminder, we are providing a link to the IRS website on political organizations. Please notice one of the exceptions to filing a Form 8871 to register as a political organization with the IRS is that the organization reasonably expects its annual gross receipts to always be less than $25,000. If you have not filed the Form 8871 under this exception, please be aware that when you intend to exceed this threshold, your organization must register with IRS by filing the form.
