As a reminder to PACs, we are providing a link to the IRS website on political organizations. Please notice one of the exceptions to filing a Form 8871 to register as a political organization with the IRS is that the organization reasonably expects its annual gross receipts to always be less than $25,000. If you have not filed the Form 8871 under this exception, please be aware that when you intend to exceed this threshold, your organization must register with IRS by filing the form. Link to IRS webpage regarding exceptions to filing Form 8871. (As a note, committees of state or local candidates and state or local committees of a political party are not required to file Form 8871.)
