McDonald Observatory Board of Visitors and is a past Chairman of Leadership Austin. In addition, Mr. Forbes was the founding President of the Travis County Children's Advocacy Center and was presented the first Volunteer of the Year Award from the Texas Association of Children's Advocacy Centers. He was also awarded a Citation of Merit by the Southwestern University Alumni Association. Mr. Forbes previously chaired the State Legislation Committee, Sunset Review Committee, and the Administrative Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He has served in the American Bar Association's House of Delegates and as a member of numerous ABA, State Bar and Austin Bar Association Committees. He recently completed a term on the ABA Latin American Law Initiatives Council and is a Life Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation.
